Training Time Comparison

youth soccer training

While this is a "generalized" look, it will offer some insight.

Recreational League Player:

Between the ages of 6 - 16 players will train one to two days a week.
Season will last 8 weeks.
Training time is usually one hour.
20 minutes of that time is truly used for individual technical skill training.

After 10 years ..... 53 hours of technical training.

Academy or Club Level Player:

Between the ages of 9 - 16 players will train twice a week.
Season will last 10 weeks.
Training is 1.5 hours.
30 minutes of that time is truly individual technical skill training.

After 7 years..... 140 hours of technical training.

Residential Academy (France is one example.)

Between the ages of 12 - 16 players will train 5 days per week.
Training is done all year long.
Training is usually 2 hours a day.
1.5 hours is devoted to individual technical skill development.

After 4 years..... 1500 hours

To TRULY advance your technical skills players MUST be able to work on these skills at home and coaches must have a time efficient method of teaching them.

SOCCER U was designed with this in mind.
